Dave Johnston
David Johnston, Lead Pastor:
PastorDave@Crosspointmn.com

David Johnston has been a pastor since 1980 and he has served as the
Senior Pastor of CrossPoint Church since 1995. He has been married to
Jean since 1980 and they have two children, Davey and Kristen.

I have served as the Lead Pastor of CrossPoint Church since 1995. I love the sense of community, family and unity that we have at CrossPoint. People truly care for one another and it shows in the way that we love and serve each other. One of the greatest challenges facing our church is how to minister to the many needs of our community in difficult financial times. We believe that God has called us to feed the hungry and minister to the downtrodden in our community. I believe God will provide the resources through His people to do this. I love being a pastor and hope to be serving God's people at CrossPoint for many more years.

Pastor Nancy
Nancy Ernewein, Pastor of Congregational Life:
NanSE@aol.com
My name is Nancy Ernewein and I am the Pastor of Congregational Life. I have been married for 34 years and have three children and three grandchildren. My ministry is to serve God by initiating, coordinating, and leading ministries that support and build up the congregation of CrossPoint Church to fulfill our mission of loving God, loving people and following passionately in the footsteps of Jesus.  AND.... I am truly enjoying my ministry CPC. In my spare time, I am also involved with teaching a bible study on Friday mornings to the women at Lino Lakes Prison and I have been a volunteer mediator for Mediation Services for Anoka County for the past 7 years. I am excited for the direction the Lord is leading our church for reaching out to the community in so many ways. However, ministering to the poor and downcast can be a challenge at times. All of us have busy lives but we are unified and fired up to accomplish the tasks set before us as we continue to carry on loving God and loving people. What I enjoy about our church is we are a congregation that I believe really has a heart like Jesus (Matthew 25:30-40). What would I like to see our church doing in five years from now? I would like to see us have a homeless shelter and an amazing food shelf for those in need in Anoka County. It would be great to have a coffeehouse ministry outside the walls of our church to reach out to the unchurched, and whatever else the Lord want to bless us with I am ready for it!

Drew
Drew Fernelius, Pastor of CPPM:
drewfernelius@hotmail.com
I will being serving as CPPM lead/teaching pastor. What I like best about CPC is it's passion for Christ and compassion for others. A challenge that I am facing is trying to fit in as I begin at CPPM and hear God's voice and the direction that He plans on leading us. It is also a challenge being a husband and father to 5 children. In 5 years, I want to be serving God and bearing witness to lives being changed for His glory on a daily and weekly basis, continuing to see my kids grow and walk with Jesus, and constantly shooting lower scores on the golf course, and maybe even have my first ever hole-in-one.

Hi, I have been the secretary at CrossPoint Church for 20 years now and have been blessed with three children and a son-in-law and daughter-in-law. My joy is my granddaughter, Scarlett who is 2 years old. I also work in the Anoka County jail fulltime. I’ve seen so many changes over the years at CrossPoint Church and I feel the Lord has led us to such a time as this. Our mission is to love God, love people and follow in the footsteps of Jesus.  We are a family here at CrossPoint who truly care for each other and for our community. Our outreach is to the poor and needy through drive-thru prayer/coffee time, community winter clothing giveaway, free community meal on Wednesday nights, bread/bagel giveaway each week and serving on Thursdays at a homeless shelter in downtown Minneapolis. During this time of financial crisis, we invite you to join us in making a difference.

I have been at CrossPoint Church since 2004 and me and my family were drawn to CrossPoint Church for the genuine love and caring we received when we first started attending through today.  I have been both a Deacon/Elder in the church and I am currently serving as moderator.  I am excited that CrossPoint Church has a ministry to serve the needy as many are struggling in these tough times.  Many need food to eat and we are doing what we can go feed those that need actual food along with spiritual food through God’s word.

My name is Michelle Hertenstein.  I have been the teacher assistant at Christ Child Preschool for five years.  My family and have attended CPC for about twelve years.   I love to work with the children in the preschool.  It's fun to see all the different personalities of the children playing side by side together and growing together.  My entire adult life I've been working with children.  I am thankful to God for leading me to Cross Point Church.  I hope to continue to work in the preschool for many years.

I work with the discipleship ministries such as KidsPoint, nursery, and W.O.W. I teach 3rd through 5th grade at KidsPoint sunday mornings, as well as, ministering to our youth as a senior high youth leader at W.O.W. I have also taught Senior High bible studies. What I like best about CPC is the close-knit family atmosphere. Everyone is welcome and loved. The challenges I face now are dealing with physical health issues in our family. In five years I hope to still be serving our Lord and Saviour in whatever He chooses for me.

Betty Hardle
Betty Hardle, Treasurer:
betty10436@comcast.net
My name is Betty Hardle.  This year I am serving as the Church Treasurer.  I also am part of the Worship Team, playing piano, organ, keyboards and vocals.  I am a charter member of the church, as I was a member right from the beginning.  Of course, that was over 50 years ago.  This church is an example of how God establishes a church and keeps it going using His people.  The church has encountered many difficulties, but God has been faithful.  Even from the beginning, the church was located in a neighborhood of working people with not much income, a lot of needs in the church and the community, and a willingness to work for God’s kingdom. Although our financial resources are slim, God has always provided and will continue to provide.  I like the current emphasis of our church program to show God’s love to our community.  The more I study the Scriptures, the more I realize that is what God intended as an “advertisement” of His goodness.   So we, as a church, will keep on keeping on!

I am Outreach Coordinator at CPC. What I like best about CPC is the Pastor! (I liked him so well that I married him)! The challenge I most face is to find enough time for everything!! In 5 years I see myself still serving in church and still being a Pastor's Wife (which I love)!!

Betty N
Betty Notto, Young Adults Leader:
bnotto@gmail.com
I lead the Young Adult Bible Study that meets on Tuesday evenings. I also help out with powerpoint, running the sound board, and announcements at the Crosspoint PM service. I enjoy being apart of Crosspoint Church because of it's smaller size and it's focus on servicing the poor in our community, which is something that God calls all of us to be involved in. Although I have been a Christian for seven years I still struggle with my selfishness and wanting to do things my way instead of God's way. Since the last seven years have been so different that I ever could have imagine, I cannot predict where God will take me in the next seven.

Tony
Tony Notto, CPPM Worship Leader:
lnotto@gmail.com
I lead the musical worship for Crosspoint PM. I like that Crosspoint is focused on caring for and showing God's love to the community in which we live. The biggest challenge in ministry for me right now is finding musicians. Crosspoint PM is a fairly new service and CPC is a smaller church so I'm praying that God will bring more musicians to play and sing with the worship teams. Five years from now, I want to me more mature in my relationship with God and serving Him with all of my ability, hopefully using my music to draw people closer to God and inspire people to worship Him.

Davey Johnston, Youth Leader:

My name is DAVEY JOHNSTON and I am the fun youth coordinator/Helper/Worship/Middle school/Small group leader/Game director. I Love the people and the kids and the fact that it is real and is full of love the christ kind. I'm not good at coming up with stuff to say but I'm good at answering hard questions about God for the kids. I see myself following God and where ever he may take me.

Boo
Kristen "Boo" Johnston, Youth Leader:
boojohnston@gmail.com
I help out in the worship team as a singer and occasional conga player
on a regular basis. I am also a youth leader and all around pastors
kid. ^_^ Life is just full of challenges but I supose the biggest one is just
forgetting how BIG my God is. The world needs so much change in it for it
to be how God intended it to be and it can all get overbearing, and
sometimes it all makes me give up. But I just gotta remember the power of
my Lord. Perhaps I can't do much...but HE can do ANYTHING.
In five years I will probably be in college...either in my senior year
for my Bachelors in Fine Arts or heading on to getting my Masters.
Perhaps by then I shall be married though I doubt there will be any kids
yet. I will be living in a community that hopefully on it's way to
becoming a New Monastic community as I continue to act in the Twin Cities and
have some sort of job on the side.

Nancy Anderson, Elder:
nrbdpanderson@comcast.net
My name is Nancy Anderson, I am an elder and am in charge of prayer and discipleship ministries. What I like best about CPC is how vastly diversified we are with many different people and personalities that show how our God is a multi-faceted God. My greatest challenge to ministry is working full-time and trying to put as much energy into church, as well as being a full-time mom and wife. In 5 years, I hope to be serving God as a servant to senior citizens in some capacity.

Audrey Larson, Elder:
koffeeklatch@juno.com
I am an Elder. What I like about CPC is Pastor Dave and His love for God and passion for reaching the lost, and the sweet fellowship we all have as we together serve Jesus. A challenge I face is to always be a testimony to those I meet. In five years where will I be? It's hard to know the future, but I know I will continue to serve Jesus.

Mary Kay
Mary Kay Olson, Finance Ministry Team:
aaomko@peoplepc.com
My name is Mary Kay Olson and I am on the Elder Board at CrossPoint Church.  I am also chairman of the Worship Committee and play keyboard for the a.m. service. I enjoy the people at CrossPoint Church.  They are such friendly people and easy to converse with.  I also like the unity that we have as a church body. One of my biggest challenges is that I have been a member for 41 years and at times, I feel that the younger people should be doing more things at the church.  But then I realize, there is something to be said about being elder and having the history of the church. In five years, I will be retired and spending more time traveling and at our cabin in northern Mn.  We would also like to move out of the cities, but time will tell.

Casey
Casey Lawson, Web Master & Church Photographer:
cllawson22@yahoo.com
My name is Casey and I'm in charge of running this website you are looking at as well as taking all the pictures you see on the website. I try to be in attendance at all events at CPC and get great pictures so that members of CPC can enjoy them and so people who visit our site can see what our church is all about. I also do the videos you can see in our media gallery and am involved in our CPPM service. What I like best about CPC is how everyone's ideas are important here. We are always open to new and exciting ideas. Our church is always growing and changing to better serve our members and our community. A challenge I face is trying to get all the stuff on the website in a timely manner and filtering all the e-mails about changes and additions that need to be made. I also balance a full-time job, running a young adult women's ministry (http://home.comcast.net/~laws0061/site/?/page/New_Creations_Scrapbooking_/), and being a wife and dog mom. It's also a challenge to keep up with all the editing I have to do with the hundreds of pictures I take (just call me CPC paparazzi!). I can't really say where I will be in five years as my life is in flux for awhile, but I know it will be somewhere where I am serving the Lord.
